How to respond when the company asks for clarification, account matching details, or verification support.

Clarify the request

The responder may ask for more detail when the request does not identify the right account, product, timeframe, or desired outcome. Provide the minimum information needed to make the request clear.

  • Reference the original confirmation ID when replying.
  • Explain which account, product, or service the request concerns.
  • State whether your request is about access, deletion, correction, or another action.

Use the safest available channel

If the company provides a secure portal or upload flow, use it instead of ordinary email for sensitive materials. The company controls the case record and can tell you what information is required.

  • Do not email copies of sensitive documents unless the responder instructs you to do so.
  • Send only information related to the request.
  • Ask the responder to confirm next steps if you do not understand why information is needed.
